I am wearing my leopard print socks today that no one can see. They make me feel good, but not as good as my Oscar the Grouch socks. (which I think I will wear tomorrow)

Augh! I forgot to write about something magic that has happened! Sadly, I can't think of anything.....

think magic think magic think magic think magic think magic

not working

Umm...

got one!

My mother, Donna Joan Parks Fischer, died on Friday June 1st 2001. I had wrestled with the idea of not going to church on Sunday, but I knew I did not want to be home alone and church was the place I needed to be.

So I went.

On the way to church the tears started slipping down my cheeks again. I remember thinking that Mom will never get to visit our little country church again. She would never get to do this, to see that. I prayed to God that he would let me know that Mom was in a better place. That she was in no pain and that she was OK.

My prayer was answered about 15 minutes later when the first song our songleader John led us in was "In the Garden". The song was one of my favorites and I knew that God was telling me where my mother was. And she was OK.

In the Garden
by C. Austin Miles

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear,
Falling on my ear;
The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody
That He gave to me,
Within my heart is ringing.

And He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Tho' the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go;
Thru the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling.

And He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
Ahh...

TUESDAY. I always liked Tuesday. Any day that follows MONDAY has got to look brighter, right?

I had a great "movie" weekend!!! Friday night I FINALLY got to see "Troy" with Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana and Brad Pitt (who needs to keep the pecs). The only thing that movie was missing in my opinion was Oded Fehr and Viggo Mortensen. (Ewan McGregor would have been a little out of place in that movie, but I would have enjoyed seeing him too. Oh...and Jason Isaacs! Every movie needs Jason Isaacs to play the bad guy.)

Saturday I finally got to watch the dvd I purchased: "Walk on the Moon" with Viggo and Diane Lane. Another movie to add to my favorites list. The movie is rated R mainly for a few scenes, but the rest is quite watchable. So Danielle, I will let you watch it with me but you have to cover your eyes during a couple parts!!! :)

Speaking of Danielle, I am waiting for her to clear her busy schedule and come see ME. I know your Social Secretary is trying hard (say Hi to your Mom for me!) haha

My hubs, Bryan, purchased the DVD of the entire 1st season of the Dukes of Hazzard. I have been enjoying watching that as well. More to share with Danielle when she visits!

Other than that not much going on. I am far too busy at work for any one person to be and now I hear that we may be moving offices on Thursday. Being the pack rat I am, I am praying I am not one to move. please o please o please I have Friday off I don't wanna move all my stuff. I have 2 computers for heaven's sake!

whine whine whine

Well, I must run...I will be updating the viggo site soon. I have lots planned for it.

Good Morning, Fans!

Did you know there was a 4:00 in the morning? I certainly didn't...until today.

The phone rings (BRRRING).
"What was that?"
Again the phone (BRRRING).
I look at the clock while hubby Bryan reaches for the phone (not an easy task at 4:00 in the morning with 2 50+ lb. dogs in a waterbed to reach over.

Finally the bed stops moving. Bryan hands me the phone. I wince knowing what the call was.

The cheery voice says, "Hello. This is RTA Systems. We have a burglar alarm going off. I have dispatched the police."

By now I am already out of bed, trying to pull on a pair of shorts. I tell her I can be there in 10 minutes. Bryan hands me Penny (she can't jump off the bed alone). I put my hair in a pony and take the dogs outside for a morning pee.

Now remember it is 4:00 ~ so I am stumbling, tripping and I don't think I ever opened my eyes.

Penny and Libby go potty. Bryan meets me at the door, I check to make sure I grabbed my keys. ((Keys would be important)) and we head to the car.

=========================

I have never gotten an alarm call when it was still daylight.
...or when I was still dressed
...or when I have makeup on

So far I have 3 extra hours built up from these latest alarm calls, so I will be enjoying my Thursday afternoon, July 1 when I leave work at 2:00!

Don't bother trying to contact me anytime after 1:30.

I will be asleep.

WHEW! I can't believe how BUSY I have been! It's been crazy!!!!
I leave work exhausted and blind (staring at a computer for 8 hours will do that). All I want to do when I get home is sleep. That is not how I want to spend my summer!

The McMillan's have been enjoying Grizzlies baseball again this summer. The last game we attended had a silent auction for the jerseys off the players backs. We had the winning bid in for the player Bridget likes, but in the final 30 seconds some jerk wrote his name down! But the good news is...we have 4 more chances to win....

I am looking forward to the July 4th weekend (only because I have Friday the 2nd off). We have no plans yet, unless the McMillan Clan from the North (yes, that's you Beans) wants to get together.
I am having a "Pajama Day" this Saturday the 26th - which means I plan to sleep in and not get dressed all day.

~~~~~~~~~~~Something Magical~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, Skyler is the subject of this magical story... ;)
I took Skyler for his evening constitutional in the park (he loves to potty in the --___________). We were walking slowly, waiting for Bryan to catch up - he ran into a neighbor of ours that he teaches with. I looked down at Skyler and noticed he was watching a firefly. It was floating very slowly in front of him and Skyler watched it curiously. Finally as the it was directly in front of Skyler's nose, the firefly flashed his light making Skyler's eyes grow very big. I don't think he expected that at all. I giggled to myself watching Skyler's expression change watching the firefly go higher and higher away from him.
Skyler looked up at me then as if to say, "Well, come on!"
I will try to blog more...I promise!
See ya!
Hello again, dear readers.
Another weekend is fast approaching (hallalujah!) but it forces me to contemplate what fills my week.
Things I would rather not do. That's what fills my week.
===============
Yesterday was rather enjoyable (I had the day off from work). Other than the Thunderstorm we had to endure while sitting in the car and the list of health problems I came down with all at once, it was pretty good.
-----------------------------------------------------
My something magical for this week ~
Skyler. Skyler is like a magic charm for my heart. There are so many magical moments with him, my mind is trying to piece together just one to tell you about...
This morning would have to be the latest "Skyler-is-a-, Cindy was trying to get Sky-boy (as we affectionately call him) to go outside for his morning potty. He had not seen that I was up yet, and when he heard me coming into the kitchen, he stopped and raced towards me with big doggie grin on his face. His whole body was wagging.
Naturally, I instantly felt better about the day (and felt physically better) as I reached down to tell him Good Morning. I scratched his chin - which he loves. He nuzzled me with his nose and bounded off towards Cindy who was smiling too.
Have a great weekend!
GREAT NEWS!
I found out that the movie "Ned Kelly" is playing at our downtown theatre!!!! So guess where I am going this weekend......
I still have not seen "Troy" (sniff)
...or Shrek 2
...or Van Helsing
... or wait, what else it out now?
Anyway, the point is, I haven't been to see any movies lately AT ALL. I find this VERY disturbing.
Also disturbing to me is the fact that I own my VERY OWN laptop and I have had ZERO time to play with it. It's mine! All mine!
That is on my weekend "to do" list, believe me.
WEEKEND TO DO LIST
1. Play on laptop
2. Go to bank for money (they give that out, don't they?)
3. Put art supplies etc in new big cabinet
4. Go to flea market
5. Listen to records purchased at last flea market (The Osmonds! The Partridge Family!)
6. Take things to mall for Humane Society Garage Sale
7. Take naps...lots of naps
8. Play with the dogs outside
9. Play tag at the park or go see a ball game
I think that should be enough on my "to do" list. There is a lot more I need to do, but I don't want to do any of it, so I will do something else.
Have a great weekend! (Hi, Danielle!)
