More 100 Things (I'll get there someday). . .
44. I had 2 different room-mates during my stay in college. My Freshman year I roomed with Betsy M. and my Sophomore and Junior year my roomie was Laura O. Laura had been my best bud Michele's roomie her freshman year. We both loved Duran Duran and the Beatles!
45. People in college were amazed by my ability to write a CORE paper at the typewriter while singing to music and still get an "A".
46. I made money in college typing papers (mainly for football players!) {I didn't charge Bryan after I met him}
47. I used to make money in High School driving kids to Monticello. I had my own taxi service.
48. I still have most of my stuffed animals and posters from my room when I was in High School
49. I was in the band in HS, but didn't play an instrument. (I was in the Flag Corps.)
50. I hate talking on the phone. ( So email me instead!)
more later...promise!

Lots of things make me happy and give me that "sick sense of satisfaction".

Happy Day Before New Year's Eve!
Well, I think Tom will survive. Hopefully the people who are having to deal with his absence are learning something. (I am NOT meaning his wife in this instance!) Although I doubt any lesson are truly being learned. Tom is the one who is probably learning the lessons such as who his friends really are and what really matters.
21. I am not afraid of spiders, snakes or mice (but I wouldn't want any crawling all over me.)
22. All my animals (like my children) have 3 names:
Jeremiah Jebediah Johnson (at the Rainbow Bridge)
Sable Boo-Boo Kitty
Gabrielle Eva Wants More (at the Rainbow Bridge)
Penelope Hope Kissin' Kiley
Libby McMillan's Weak Moment
Charity Cocoa Diamonds Rowdy
Skyler Nelson Wilbury Harrison
23. Plus nicknames that they answer to like "Char-Bear", "Sky-Boy", "Sky-Man", "Lib-bib", "Bibs", "Hen-Pen," plus pumpkin, cupcake, cookie, and sweetie-pie
24. I can shoot very strait
25. I keep a baseball bat by my side of the bed (plus Libby!)
26. I have taught my girls some self-defense moves
27. My first celebrity crush when I was little (about 6-7) was Donny Osmond.
28. I (along with Bryan) collect autographs
29. Currently I collect Willow Tree Angels & Precious Moments figurine animals.
30. I have just stopped collecting Barbie ornaments (too many!!!) and ornaments in general.
31. Before meeting Bryan I collected horses and unicorns
32. I was named after both my Grandmothers: Edith Corrine Bragg Parks Killen and Helen Gayle Barclay Fischer...I became Corine Gail Fischer
33. I have an aunt, Susan, who is shorter than I am.
34. I have an uncle who is over 6 feet tall (Susan's brother oddly enough!)
35. I didn't think I would like "The Lord of the Ring's : The Fellowship of the Ring" when Bryan asked me to go see it.
36. I have seen it hundreds more times than Bryan by now.
37. Before meeting Bryan, who is a BIG Star Wars collector, I had seen "Star Wars: Episode IV" OVER 365 times. I stopped counting when I went to college in 1985.
38. The first movies I saw with Bryan were Disney's "Lady & the Tramp" and "Blade Runner". Bryan was impressed that I had already seen Blade Runner
39. I am ambidextrous.
40. I have had dreams come true.
41. Another fond memory I have of growing up is driving around on Christmas Eve looking at Christmas lights with my Dad. That is when Santa Claus came to our house. I never understood how Mom or my brother Mark missed seeing Santa EVERY year!
42. After I became a mom, I started the tradition of driving around on Christmas Eve to look at Christmas lights. Now we do it with the entire family, and Santa comes on Christmas morning. No early stops.
43. Growing up I listened to a wide mixture of music: The Osmonds, Dotty West, The Beatles, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Mozart and Beethoven.
more as time allows

Whoa! What happened to December???
Here it is December 29th...nearly the end of 2004 and I have had so much to blog about and no time to do it. We are travelling this weekend to see my in-laws and have our Christmas celebration with them...and to ring in the new year, of course! We McMillan's are party animals, you know. (we will be in bed by 10:00...if not sooner)
~*~
I have been doing a lot of questioning since December 20th. Asking myself "Why" this and "why" that. I have come to the conclusion that the questions I am asking cannot be answered and really don't need to be. I simply need to look at the facts and what is REALLY important to me. Money, of course, is extremely important, but what if the cost is your family, your sanity or your physical health. All of which are currently at risk.
I just find it extremely comical sometimes. If people only knew, you know? No one knows what anyone is going through, yet somehow every one here thinks they know.
If you don't understand that last sentence... well, I can explain in person. Maybe.
~*~
My thoughts are going out to Big Tom right now...laid up at home. I hope you feel better, Tom, SOON. I need you around here to keep me real.
Well, see you in the new year.
2005 looms ahead larger than life. Full of possibilities.
Ahhh.

100 Things About Me
1. I have been married to Bryan since 1991 (and, yes, to the same man)
2. We would have gotten married in 1988, but our parents would have killed us.
3. We renewed our wedding vows in 2001.
4. I have 2 daughters with 3 names: Bridget Katie Scarlett and Cindy Breanne Sarah
5. Bridget's middle names come from "Gone with the Wind".
6. Cindy's middle name "Breanne" is the feminine form of Bryan
7. I work at a company doing something I love (graphic design)
8. I worked in the screen printing field for over 12 years before I came here
9. I had been an Art Major before I quit college
10. I am the youngest of 2 children (one brother, Mark). Mark is 11 years and 1 week older than me.
*~*
11. My first nephew was born on the day I told his mother, Michelle, he should be born: October 27
12. One of the fondest memories of growing up is working with my dad on old cars and engines. I helped pull my first engine out of a car when I was 5.
13. My mom cut my long hair short not long after that.
14. I have worn glasses since I was 4. Don't bother calling me "four eyes" or "visually challenged" ~ I will just kick you.
15. People who do not know me will call me shy.
16. People who do know me will call me quite extroverted. "Spastic", says Carla.
17. I don't like milk. The thought of it makes me gag and it always smells.
18. I am not too fond of water either. (I am beginning to make progress on this, however)
19. I used to be addicted to caffeine until Bryan and I decided to start a family. Now I can't stand Coke or Pepsi.
20. What do I drink, you ask? I drink Sprite, 7up, and Kool-Aid. Water, sometimes.

OK. That subject really bit it.
It's so hard to write about things that make me laugh while still attempting to be general and not mentioning names or specific incidents. So that didnt' work the way I intended it.
Oh, well. Lesson learned.
The Christmas Season has descended upon us with a stack of cardboard boxes littering the living room and every available flat surface in the house. The tree is up. That was a major accomplishment for me. I did have a little help: Bryan helped me put in a lot of the branches and the top part of the tree. He is always the tree-topper-putter-on. Cindy helped put on some of the ornaments, but for the most part everyone stayed out of the way or they just couldn't make it through all the boxes!
I listened to my Christmas CD's for a while while decorating, but they got old really fast. So I listened to Styx's "Crystal Ball" cd - I have LOVED that recording ever since I went through my brother Mark's old records way back when I was in Junior High. I ordered the CD from our local store and have enjoyed it ever since.
After Styx, I listened to ZZ Top and Bryan Adams - such jolly, holiday tunes.
More later...

New Blog topics . . . New blog topics.
It has come to my attention that my blog has gotten to be rather BORING lately. Not to make excuses, but that is in part due to the fact that I have been so swamped lately at work to notice any funny goings-on and Carla and I never get to speak to each other even though we are only 8 feet apart.
SO! I have found a list of possible "blog" topics that I can use to hopefully spice things up a bit.
TOPIC FOR DECEMBER 7TH, 2004:

TOPIC FOR DECEMBER 7TH, 2004:
WHAT MAKES ME LAUGH
Last night, the lamp falling on me made me laugh for 15 minutes! I was crying so much I had to dry my face! Bridget and Cindy thought I was having some sort of attack or something. What a way to instill a sense of competency in my daughters when they see their mother laughing uncontrollably and at what? The lamp fell.
Oooo hysterical.
Other than nonsense things that strike me as funny, I love to see people trip or fall (as long as they are not hurt). I loved America's Funniest Home Videos for just that. Bryan thinks I have an evil streak.
Movies like Christmas Vacation, Deuce Bigalow and Rat Race make me laugh.
A good joke, unlike the ones told around here, make me laugh.
Catching someone doing something geeky when they don't think anyone can see them makes me laugh.
Listening to Bridget say "Chipmunk" when she had her expander in made me laugh.
People who make me laugh include Carla, Cindy, Bridget, Bryan, Mr. Bean, Tom, Colby, Bill Cosby etc...etc...

Thanksgiving has come and gone.
Did I even eat any turkey? I certainly don't feel like I did. Which I guess is a good thing. Now I have to get one for Bryan to cook for Christmas since we are staying home this year (yippee). I had all the ambition and drive to write witty and funny remarks about our Thanksgiving, but the truth is...it was pretty uneventful and boring even.
Here is my earlier attempt:
Thanksgiving, 2004
Thanksgiving Day at the McMillan’s consisted of lounging in pajamas until absolutely necessary. Bryan & I went to my favorite antique shop for their open house. I pointed out a lot of items I would like to have for Christmas (like the cast iron muffin tins that I have had my eye on for almost a year now and the tin lunch pail and the coffee grinder). I think they are supposed to come home with me. Instead of waiting for Christmas,
The rest of the day was spent at the local mall preparing for the Humane Society’s Celebrity Auction and taking care of the cats that are housed there. I don’t think we ate any meals together at all Thanksgiving Day.
Black Friday, November 26
4:00 am The alarm went off and I wondered what in the world I was thinking when I decided to leave so early. We planned on leaving the house at 5:00 am and traveling to Bryan’s Dads house up north. It would take 2 ½ - 3 hours to get there depending on traffic and Bryan’s speed. I took a warm bath, which helped to wake me up, checked on the cats, took the dogs out and woke everyone else up. By 5:20 we were whizzing past the rest area outside of town on the Interstate all in pretty good spirits and eating our McDonald’s breakfasts. I could tell the girls would be down for the count very soon though. Full bellies and long car rides are not good ways to keep Bridget and Cindy awake.
8:00 am We arrived at the northern McMillan’s homestead and no one was home. Luckily we found a door unlocked and the security system was down (3 dogs…all happy to see us) Cindy, Bridget and I all camped out in the living room watching “What Women Want” while Bryan napped in the family room. Dan came back from his walk not long after we arrived and pretty soon Kathy and Danielle did too.
This week has been unbearable in the mornings. I can't wait until December 22 when I have 22-26th off and then I am off again January 3 &4. I am sure there will be tons of work to do at home, but at this point I dont' care.
We have no tree up yet and nothing else decorated. I am not ready. I do have 2 presents wrapped already tho. I have to wrap Bryan's presents.
I can't think of any funny stories that have happened around here either.
Ugh. Why did I even TRY to blog???
