Strangely enough, that gives me a sick sense of satisfaction.

-Carla Meyer, 2004
A Dingo Ate My Baby!

I don't know where (or why!) Carla comes up with these things, but now she and I will burst out with "A dingo ate my baby!" in complete Australian accent. Well, we try at the accent. Tom was downstairs - who let him out I don't know - and Carla asked if he had heard the phrase. Of course, he had and then the three of us went off on a dingo-ate-my-baby marathon with Tom winning the Meryl Streep Award. It was kind of scary, actually. This phrase has almost completely replaced "Do you want to make more money?" and "Is my Dad there?"

I guess we will get to add this to the list of Hodgson Mill classics.

Survived the Weekend

Well, I survived the weekend. . . somehow. Ibuprophen every 4 hours will do wonders I s'pose. Not much has changed. I still feel like a hair you twist between your fingers. The hair will stretch a little while, but eventually it snaps and breaks in two.

I am waiting for my *snap* to happen.

"A Walk on the Moon" helped me to sleep these past couple of days, as did a borrowed copy (THANK YOU TOM!!!) of "Young Guns II". Really... what does this say about me? I have a better time and feel better about my life when I immerse myself in a movie?

Yep.

Hello all!

Yesterday the list of things getting me down was so numerous I couldn't believe it! But through it all, four beautiful, precious, magical beings came to me and reminded me that I was loved. Skyler was the first to sense my dark mood. He nuzzled me and made me keep petting him through my tears. After I felt well enough to emerge from my dark room and into the kitchen, I was attacked by Charity, Libby and Penny all wanting to give me attention and to receive attention from me. Charity was wagging her whole body! She never does that when she sees me!

Even though nothing had changed - my situation remained the same and I was still faced with decisions, headaches and a sleepless night...I felt better.

There is nothing better than the love of a dog.

Another Weekend Gone.

Monday.

Monnndaaaay.

I wanted so much to roll over and pull the pillow over my head this morning and go back to the "Blackhawk Down" dream I was having. (can you tell what movie I watched?)

Highlights of the weekend included
  • Bryan's boy's Cross Country team in disbelief that they won a trophy at the meet. They just sat there...stunned.
  • Skyler is getting closer and closer to giving me an actual "kiss". I keep promising him a steak all his own, but so far...no luck
  • Bryan noticed my "poster wall" of Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen. He didn't make me take it down :)
  • Bridget went to a back-to-school dance and was not grounded. Isn't that a first? Good girl!!! :)

I know more happened... but my mind is blank.

Check back for more exciting news!

Yikes! It's Friday! This has been an awfully, awfully loooonnng week for being just 4 days long. Ya know what I mean? (doesn't Ernest say that?)

I don't know what planets are visible right now, but what I saw near the moon was too big to be a space station and too bright to be a star. (sorry, a little Star Wars quote got thrown in there). I was out with Penny and Libby this morning. It was still dark and quiet out - the sun had not begun to come up. The stars were beautiful! I swear I have never seen them that close before. Orion's belt (my personal favorite) was right over our house.

This weekend I will get to enjoy the outdoors at the Cross Country meet. I plan on taking a lawn chair, my camera and my sketch book and watching the runners go by. Last year I was back-and-forth, back-and-forth and by the time we got home I was exhausted! Not this year!! I am camping out!!!

More next week

Wow! Time sure flies! I was outside with Skyler, Charity and Libby the other day...just enjoying the weather and letting them do their "business" when a thought struck me.

**GONG**

(that is the sound of the thought striking me)

I haven't blogged!!!

Weird how things pop into your head...the good news is I have made some progress in cleaning the immense mound of stuff in the living room. Our new cabinet is a big help. I have things labeled on the inside to help me. I used to be SO supremely organized. . . . . . .

. . . . .then I went in for counseling.

Anyway...I have a few Orlando Bloom posters hanging about that I can see when I am working. Thank you, Bridget for the last one! I need some Viggo posters. Ooo let me print one.

No, no blogging now. blog now viggo later.

I am so glad I have an understanding husband. Thank you, Bryan!
Let's see something magical...what has happened.what what what think think think.
haha I laff to myself. I sound like Winnie the Pooh. Nothing magical comes to mind, but I listened to "Weakest Moment" by John Cougar today (who is now known as John Mellencamp). I keep thinking about the words... weakest moment

weakest moment

for some reason I keep thinking about that. I don't know why. The song usually makes me cry because I think about my dad saying some of the words. "I'll be with you in your weakest moments"

Well, I am going to try to NOT procrastinate and blog more. Please hold me to that.
