Scorpio

With my impending birthday, and fellow astrologer Carla (with a "c"), I have been doing some research what it means to be a Scorpio. (The descriptions highlighted in RED, are those that I agree with). Here are some things I found while "googling".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The symbol of Scorpio is, of course, the scorpion. Scorpios are thought to be energetic and passionate leaders; they can be stubborn or jealous. They are sensitive and observant, and enjoy pushing themselves and others to the limit.

The planet Pluto rules Scorpio, which is a water sign. Scorpios are considered to be energetic, passionate, deep, intuitive, and secretive, with a great deal of self-control. They also believe that Scorpios can be willful, stubborn, and easily made jealous. Scorpios are thought to be keen observers of people, and potentially calculating and manipulative. Seeing more of people's deepest motivations than others do, they have a tendency to be cynical. They are sensitive and never forget a hurt or a slight—for the typical Scorpio, forgiveness can be difficult.

Astrologers consider Scorpio perhaps the most extreme of all signs. The intensity and focus of Scorpios gives them great ability to see a project through despite all obstacles. Their strong leadership qualities, incisive analytic abilities, energy, and desire for financial security can make them motivated career people. Many Scorpios also like to flirt with danger and push themselves and those close to them to their limits. Professions traditionally associated with Scorpio include forensics, law enforcement or detective work, the military, medicine, psychology, big business, and recycling.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Am I in the wrong profession, or what?

Test Results

I took a test recently and I wanted to place the link here, but I don't have it any longer (grr). When I do I will post the site for you. The test was to help you find out if you have any types of "disorders". Well...for your reading pleasure... here are my test results:

PARANOID: (extreme or irrational fear or distrust of others)... VERY HIGH

SCHIZOID: (personality disorder marked by extreme shyness, flat affect, reclusiveness, discomfort with others, and an inability to form close relationships.) ... LOW

SCHIZOTYPAL: (potential borderline schizophrenia, a condition characterized by cold aloof feelings, eccentric behavior, hallucinations, illusions, and delusions) ... MODERATE

ANTISOCIAL: (Shunning the society of others; not sociable)...LOW

BORDERLINE: (Relating to a condition characterized by a pattern of instability in mood, interpersonal relations, and self-image, and manifested by self-destructive, impulsive, and inconsistent behavior)...MODERATE

HISTRIONIC: (Excessively dramatic or emotional)...HIGH

NARCISSISTIC: (self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem)...MODERATE

AVOIDANT: (characterized by turning away or by withdrawal)... VERY HIGH

DEPENDENT: ...HIGH

OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE: (dwell on unwanted thoughts or ideas or perform certain repetitious rituals, especially as a defense against anxiety from unconscious conflicts) ...HIGH

I'm not sure if I should be scared or worried, or what? Would that be "avoidant" of me?

Well, another weekend shot to heck.

Nothing accomplished, nothing done. And yet I am so tired today I could literally fall asleep right here. No need to lay my head down or anything. All I need to do is stop moving for 5 seconds and I will be out. I feel bad for a couple of phone calls that I transfered to someone else, but I honestly could not understand ONE word they were saying. I could tell it was English, but I just kept asking them to repeat themselves over and over and over.

4 out of the 5 people I speak to at work are unhappy at being here as well (I don't speak to anyone else) which does not improve my moralle either.

What do I NOT find mentally stimulating? Questions about our products in which the answers ARE ON THE PACKAGE. I am beginning to sound like a broken record. "Yes, you just add water. The directions are on the back . Just add water. No water. Only water. Yes, tap water is fine. Any temperature will be ok. It is all explained on the box. No, not milk...water. Water. Yes, that's right. Water."

Don't laugh! That is my side of an ACTUAL conversation. Tres Stimulating!
Ciao!

I forgot to mention an answered prayer!

I got so carried away in my last blog, that I forgot to mention I had a prayer answered today. One of my greatest fears (besides drowning) is to be in another car accident. So I H-A-T-E turning left across traffic that does not stop. Hate it Hate it Hate it! I will drive for blocks out of my way sometimes to avoid it.

Well today I picked up the blue car from being fixed (spayed! haha! sorry humane society bad joke) and in order to leave the garage, I had to turn left across 4 lanes to get to work. As I pulled up to the road, I said a quick prayer. I simply said,

"Lord, I'm gonna need you to be with me!"

I stopped. Looked both ways. There was NO traffic.

Zero.

None.

This road going through town is busy 27-7. It is one of the many main highways coming into town and I was trying to get on it at 10 till 8:00 in the morning!

As I pulled out, I said a thank you to GOD.

That started my day off very well.

A Moral Dilemma . . . What To Do

What would YOU do if you caught a coworker on a website that was completely inappropriate for viewing at work? Not a pornographic site, at least not to my knowledge, but a "matchmaking" website? Now keep in mind, this is the same coworker who accused one of your best friends at work of "flashing" him and accused another good friend of having an affair with a coworker. (All of which were untrue and just figments of this guys deluded imagination!) This man trashes his own mother and would snitch on himself if he thought it would do any good. I had my suspicions about this coworker and these types of websites because our spam filter was blocking emails to him.

I figure my options are:

1. Go to my supervisor.
2. Try to get more people to "catch" him.
3. Go to the VP.

Problems I see with these solutions include:

1. No good. I have gone to her before with complaints. Nothing was ever done, nor would I ever expect anything to be done this time.

2. having our internet usage watched. Everyone's usage. That would not be good. I am talented enough to do my work and build my own website (with no one knowing, I might add).

3. Getting the VP more mad at me. He protects this guy, he is our "token", but no he isn't black.

So you see what I am dealing with.

Trash.

I need to move.

(sigh) Thursday, October 21, 2004

I sighed above for several reasons. I don't feel the best, I have to pay$260 to get my blue car working again (actually starting again), my birthday is coming up in 9 days and I don't think we have seen the sun all week.

What do I want for my birthday, you ask? Hmm. . . . . . . .

1. Less Stress

2. Energy

3. More ambition

I took a test . . .

. . . of which "Harry Potter" character I am. I am Cadence Cartwright! Here is what my test results said.

"You are Cadence Cartwright. You're subdued, reserved, quiet, and a little shy. But that's not because you mean to be, only because you're unsure of how things are going to end up around you. Your heart belongs to the famous Boy-Who-Lived Harry Potter. The boy who taught you that you are not the only one who suffers. "

Tom has had a hard millenium

Tom had a hard day at work today calling a customer named Adam White, "Adam West" and calling him his hero.

Visit you in the nuthouse we will, Tom Freeman.
I just figured out (finally!) how to add pix into my blog. The picture below was all I had to share today. But it's still a good one.
Now that I have the 'structions expect more pix in my blogs!

I felt like sharing today. Posted by Hello
Whoa! Was I on a short but nasty tangent yesteday or what?

Sometimes customers simply drive me nuts. They call, they yammer on an on, they ask a question, they yammer, the hang up. I never get a chance to say a word OR to answer their question! What a waste of my time. Grr.

I know that is what I am here for...blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. But when you add up the years I have spent in customer service of some form since the time I was 14 and had my first job...it equals 23 years!

It is time for me to find a new profession!

Do you ever find yourself having a "DUH" moment?

Well I did this morning. The sad thing is I can blame it on any number of things: the unsurmountable stress that I have from my job, the fact that I have 2 kids and a husband doing their best to rob my sanity (haha) or the fact that I am so tired and physically unfit.

But...

The truth is it was me. Totally me. Stupid. Stupid. What-was-I-thinking-moment. So do I have you on the edge of your seat? Do you really want to find out what incredibly moronic thing I did?

I will tell you.

~~~*~~~
I use a product on my hair called Bed Head heat activated curl enhancer. I use it daily, but it never seems to do as good when I use it. When my personal stylist Nikki (no one else cuts my hair!) uses it my hair poofs out like and afro and people ask me if I got a perm!
So today I sprayed it all over my wet little head...turned on the old blow dryer (complete with alien-looking diffuser attachment) and started to freeze.
Then it hit me.
Since I got this blow dryer in the spring I have used the cool and low settings.
DUH!!!
Can I say it again? DUH!!!
Good lord! I am using a HEAT - ACTIVATED product and never allowing HEAT to touch my hair.
DUH!
By the way...my hair looks GREAT today!
Here is just a sample of how my life has been going.
I was awakened at 4:41 this morning by my job's alarm company. Someone had set of the alarm and instead of calling them to give the "all clear" they called the police. The alarm company needed me, fresh out of bed, to give the ok.
I did.
I called work and happened to get a guy on the phone who was frazzled to death. He didn't know WHO to call. He knew how to turn off the alarm once it was tripped, but that was it. He didn't know who to call. Both his supervisors did not answer their phone when he called them. Typical.
~~*~~
Then I get outside with my husband who wants me to check and see if the blue car will start. He hates leaving before me, but he had to. I teased him, "Just because it starts now doesn't mean it's going to start later."
After much waiting...Bridget, Cindy and I get to the car to finally get started on our trek to school/work.
The car didn't start.
Nothing.
So we shifted quickly into "Plan B". We called a neighbor who let me borrow her van. Ah. Sigh of relief. Everyone will get to school and I will still get to work on time.
Or so I thought.
It was drizzling a little bit and had been all night. The brakes on the borrowed van squealed so loud I got an instant headache. But that's not all. At one point, I was slowing to a stop with my foot lightly on the brake when
<<>>
my foot suddenly hit the floor and we still didn't stop.
So I dropped the girls off ... the brakes were working ok by then and I took my neighbor's van back and told her of the brake problem. I ran home, effectively twisting my ankle in the platforms I was wearing. I tried calling work to warn them I might be late - but no one answered the phone! Oh, of course!!! I am not there to answer it! Who else would possibly think to do THAT?!
I call my office roomie, Carla and shout when she answers the phone, "Can you give me a ride to work?"
~~~*~~~

She picks me up and shows me her hands. She had one hand's fingernails completed painted and the other one was bare!

And then we were at work and the day went downhill from there.

It's only Wednesday.

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!

I honestly don't think I could take another day of work. It has been absolutely unbearable here. Between co-workers and customers I am surprised I have any hair left! (because I am pulling my hair out, not because they are causing me to go bald...)

I am taking Monday off to celebrate Columbus Day ~ everyone else in the fam is out of school. Bryan has CC practice early. I may or may not get up. I am kind of hoping for a nice, cool rainy kind of day. Sunny would be ok too, but then I won't want to be in the house.

_______________________

I saw a car yesterday that had Kerry/Obama/other deadocrats stickers all over it. The license plate said

MPEACH W

Can you believe someone actually PAID to have that on a license plate? They will look pretty stupid come November. Well, they already do.

I wanted to ram by '90 Geo Prism straight into his shiny new Kerry car.

_______________________

Honestly, I have been so busy with work etc... that I am sick, sick, sick. I have no time or energy to do anything at home because my body and brain collapse at 5:00. If my hand/wrist/elbow are not better by Monday I am going to have to go see a doctor about carpel tunnel. Typing this is taking forever and is absolutely killing me! Wouldn't that just kill them here if I have to take a leave of absense? hahahahahaha (evil laughter!)

Well I need to stop. More on Tuesday. Hopefully something exciting happens over the weekend.

99 Luftballoons

Ah...quiet. Well quiet except for "99 Luftballoons" playing on my iMac. I love iTunes!
I had a very enjoyable weekend. I didn't do much work around the house (hence, the enjoyment). This weekend could go either way: extreme mayhem where nothing gets done or I wear myself out and then Bridget comes to remind me of her Homecoming hair appt at 6:00. Hmm... I wonder what shoes she is wearing...I need to research that.

In other news, I feel betrayed by John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen for political reasons. I am sure they believe what they do for a reason (however deluded they may be), I just don't think they have the "little people" in mind anymore. I am against any war no matter the reason, but sometimes war is necessary. Ugh.. I could go on and on...The internet is filled with anti-Bush websites which also sickens me. Why, when I am surfing, can't I find some Anti-Kerry websites? I know why. The people who are against Kerry are too busy working at their JOBS and keeping AMERICA going that they don't have time to devote to websites etc...

OK... I must stop now.
