Aurra...the next Houdini? No wait, she's stuck.

So I get this call from my hubby, Bryan. He said that one of our kittens that live on our front porch had a new collar – made out of glass! Aurra Sing (the troublemaker) must have gotten her head stuck in a glass mason jar I had on the porch for candles. The jar was broken, but the thicker glass neck was still on Aurra.

Augh!

Bryan called for ideas on how to remove the new collar without hurting her. Other than greasing her up with vasoline or soapy water – I had none. I told him to call me if it became an emergency situation (I was at work). I tried calling the Humane Society who we were fostering the cats for, not really wanting to tell them what a bang-up job we were doing as foster parents.

In the meantime, Bryan called back and said he was definitely going to need 2 people. I could hear Aurra meowing in the background. Bryan asked where the digital camera was.

I called the HS people’s cell phones and got no one.

Bryan called again 2 minutes later telling me, “It’s off.”

What a relief. I did not want to walk into the vet's office with Aurra and her new shiny collar. How embarrasing!

[footnoote: all possible "tight spaces" for little Aurra have been eliminated. The glass jar held a citronella candle that I burn on the porch when we are out there and it was on the floor. We have had a total of 9 other cats/kittens that have NEVER touched it. Leave it to Aurra!]

You have a good day meow, you hear?
